New! High Flow air filter housing for Defender 2.4 and 2.2 Tdci.
We offer two versions of our AS293 air filter housing, the OEM and XL. The OEM version is suitable for both left and right hand drive vehicles and routes the intake hose in the original position. The XL version is only suitable for right hand drive vehicles and has a larger intake size ideal for tuned engines. The hose on this version is routed over the top of the inner wing rather than the original position. Please note, you may have to move/change the aerial with this version.
Wing kit
Supplied with all of our AS293 filter housings it replaces the original loose fitting system with a sealed one piece flexible duct. This includes our 3D printed wing adaptor, connecting hose and clips.
Filter options
All filter housing come supplied with a paper filter but you can upgrade to an ITG washable performance foam filter. For dusty conditions we recommend using the paper filter.
Direct replacement
No modifications required, available as a kit including all necessary fixings.
Intake hose (optional)
This product does not include a intake hose as standard, but we strongly recommend fitting a silicone replacement. It is possible to cut down the OEM hose to fit this kit but we recommend against this. Please note, if you already have a silicone intake hose you will need to cut it down to fit.

AlliSport strive to produce the highest quality products designed to withstand many years of use and we are proud to stand behind these products. However, we manufacture many products and if you make enough of anything, a limited number of problems may be expected. It is how we deal with a problem that is important!
Effective January 2016 onwards, if your product fails due to a manufacturing defect we will repair or replace it without charge, at our discretion. Only original, unaltered and unmodified materials and workmanship are covered by this policy.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended time and use.
Damage not covered under warranty may be repaired for a reasonable rate and a fee will be charged for return shipping.
The products eligible for warranty are covered to the original owner, for the lifetime of the product. Unfortunately, this does not mean your lifetime. Your AlliSport® intercooler may not survive to the ripe old age of 70.
(But we have heard from happy customers whose well-loved and cared for 1999 products are still going strong!)
For warranty evaluation, your product must be returned directly to AlliSport Ltd, Aubrey’s Farm, Bromesberrow Estate, Ledbury, Herefordshire, HR8 1RZ, UK, including a copy of the receipt, otherwise we require an order or invoice number to track it through our records.
All shipping for warranty must be pre-paid and insured and accompanied by reference to the original invoice. We cannot be liable for lost or damaged in-bound packages.
Not all AlliSport products are covered by the lifetime warranty, please check the warranty tab on the product detail page for further info. We will not be held liable for any costs associated with removal and refitting of a product covered by this warranty. You accept these conditions by purchasing the product.

There are a few companies which make replacement airboxes for the Defender, but the AlliSport is by far the neatest solution. It fits in the existing spot, so no mods required or cramping space in the bay.
I purchased the whole kit including the intake hose. I already replaced all other hoses with silicone hoses, so it made sense to do this.
After installation I had a few more times error codes coming up. The usual mafs and another one. I replaced the MAF Sensor as it turned out it was looking a bit dodgy. The other error code was caused by a dodgy wire in the harness loom, causing occasionally a short. Anyway all fixed.
The engine just sounds a lot calmer specifically at 100Km/hr and over. I have a 2013 2.2 Tdci with 190,000Km on the clock. I also have a Safari snorkel. I have an AlliSport upgraded intercooler
Yes still original engine and at gets serviced religiously every 9K. Anything broken or dodgy gets fixed or replaced. So yes I look very well after her. It is the daily driver and will be with me forever.
What I did not expect is that I am getting between 70 and a 100km more out of a tank, depending city/highway. Based on that figure it will have paid for itself after filling up the car about 66 times or roughy after 18 months.

I bought this kit including the air intake hose. I’ve ben amazed by the improvement in performance of the car which I hadn’t expected to feel so clearly, acceleration is improved and it feels more relaxed at higher speeds, my sense is that this is much more than a 5hp increase (read that number somewhere). Also a nice looking piece of kit. Extremely pleased with it.

Just installed this kit on my LR 110 TDCI. Upgraded the air hose to turbo too. Getting the OE old airbox and intake system out was the hardest part, especially as my 110 has AC so there is an additional pipe by the radiator and cowl in the ‘tight spot’. I ended up cutting the airbox and intake pipe both in half, so I could remove. Also did an aerial delete as use a DAB with separate aerial and to create more space under the wing. This allowed the high quality ducting to be routed easier and simpler then to fit the new air vents to wing. The airbox assembly was challenging to fit, I recommend greasing the existing bushes very well but it does go in, and once seated it feels secure. Very impressed by the whole design and quality of manufacture. Certainly feels more responsive to drive and a nice induction “snort” too! Went for the performance filter upgrade so hopefully now all done.

I bought one of these for my 2.2 Puma, there is a definite increase in power and torque. The engine runs smoother and adding the housing has reduced the kangarooing i was getting when cold and in some circumstances. Fit and finish of this is great and it brightens up the engine bay. Coupled with a stage 2 remap and an Allisport intercooler performance is more than adequate for a defender.
The only downside is it makes the car slightly noisier and as the air only goes in through the vent now the noise is concentrated by your ear if you have the window open, the noises is a good one though and in my opinion makes the car sound a bit more purposeful. Overall a great purchase.

I have to say the driving improvement with the air cleaner and the intercooler in the Defender is substantial (and we haven’t re programmed the chip yet). My partner immediately commented how much more drivable the car is particularly in traffic.
I’ll wait until we have the header tank sorted out then do the reprogram.

Transformative. A high quality, well designed and well built product. It was simple to install. The results have been fantastic: a noticeable improvement in throttle response, power and torque. At this price point, I can’t think of a single upgrade that improves engine performance as easily and reliably. It’s been running for 12 months now and no issues, only benefits. Once it was delivered, they spent time taking me through installation, air flow requirements etc etc. The kit is completely airtight where it needs to be so river crossings are no longer nerve wracking.
