AS319 – TD5 Uprated high tensile head stud

Fitting
- Remove protective wax coating
- Ensure all parts are clean and free from packaging debris
- Coat the thread with light oil, ideally ARP stud assembly oil.
- Insert studs into block until they reach the bottom of the thread
- Wind studs back 180 degrees from dead stop
- Fit new head gasket and head
- Using light oil on all faces, fit washer with large chamfer facing up, and nut
- Follow standard tightening sequence as follows:

Tightening Sequence
- Stage 1 – 35 Nm
- Stage 2 – 60 Nm
- Stage 3 – 90 Nm
- Stage 4 – 120 Nm +/- 1Nm
- Stage 5 – Repeat at 115 Nm until torque wrench clicks but the nut does not turn
NOTE
Ensure correct tightening sequence is followed through all 5 stages. Do not tighten bolts 315 degrees in one operation.
Due to Land Rover tolerances, on rare occasions, slight trimming to the rocker cover splash plate may be required.
