ASTU02 – Discovery 300 Tdi EDC adjustable tuning unit
1. Before you start!
Check you have enclosed:
- Tunit Il
- Tunit II + 4 wiring harness
- 4 x clamps
- Warranty Card

2. Installation
illustration 1: connection of tunit harness to ecu harness.
2.1 Using the connection tables enclosed..( (e.g.he 68 or 80 pole)
2.2 Turn off the ignition of your vehicle.
2.3 Take away all necessary covers in order to expose the engine control unit.(ECU).
Ecu location is:
Rover – Drivers side foot well
Landrover – Drivers side footwell

2.4. Pin Numbers
illustration 2: connection of the Tunit to it’s harness
You must be able to see the pin numbers on the plug so as to install the tunit, and for this sometimes the Plugs have a casing around them that needs to be removed to see the numbers. If you cannot see the numbers, use a magnifying glass.
Also some ECU plugs will only have a number on each corner and in this case you need to count from the corner to find the correct pin number.
2.5. Four Cables
Search for the four cables (Pin-numbers) as shown in the connection table and fasten the included cable-clamps a minimum of 15mm away from the ECU plug.
Connect the cables of the Tunit harness to the fore mentioned cable clamps. See illustration 1
Please note Although a wrong connection can cause harm to the control device and/or the Tunit
Connect the plug back to electronic control unit. Connect the Tunit to the harness just connected. IIIustration 2

2.6. Connection table for 55 Pin ECU
Rover 420, 620 di, sdi
Landrover 2.5 (auto only)

3. Fine adjustment - to be carried out in all cases.
3.1 Turn the screw on the body of the tunit to the right side, until the idle speed of the engine increases or there is too much smoke.
3.2 Now you have to turn the screw slowly to the left side, until the engine runs normally, or until the idle speed returns to normal. (max. point of the performance). Press and release the accelerator to check the revs die away properly. If not turn the screw back until you are satisfied. You may have to turn back the screw two to three turns.
3.3 Some vehicles don’t always show the alteration in idle. In these cases the Tunit can be set with several short test runs adjusting the unit a little each time.
With some engines too much power may cause the engine to cut out. In this case you have to reduce the performance with the screw and you have to turn on the ignition again.
basic rule: Turn the screw to the:
clockwise = more performance
anticlockwise = less performance
